The Most Recommended Electric Guitars for Beginners
So you've decided to get the destructive electric ax? Aright then. Just like the previous post, lets take a look at what your soon to be fellow guitarists recommend to beginners like you. For this list I've gone through websites that recommend electric guitars and top 10 electric guitars lists. Unlike acoustic guitars for beginners, there are not as many electric guitars for beginners lists on the web. Most of the people I talked to think that when you start out you must buy an acoustic guitar. Maybe this has something to do with the lack of lists out there. The truth is there are advantages to either and some may argue that electric is better for beginners because it won't be as heard on your fingers. So without any more delay, here's what I found:
[NUMBER 1] Fender Standard Stratocaster
This is the choice made by most people going for rock and blues derived music. Its got the kind of sound and twang you might hear in sounds like "Smells Like Teen Spirit" or "House of the Rising Sun" so if that's what you're after then this is a great choice.
It withstands a lot of abuse and most people comment on the solid workmanship of this guitar. It's also easy to play. The distance between the fret board and the strings is not high and when I jammed with it I didn't feel too much cramping in my hands.
It's in a price range that's a little higher than most at about $350 but word throughout guitar land is that it's completely worth it. Most ratings give it between 8 and 9.

[NUMBER 2] Squier Stratocaster
The Squier is the cheaper Fender Stratocaster. It's got a lot of the great characteristics that you find in the Fender Stratocaster mentioned above but at a cheaper $200.
I tried this one too and it was difficult to tell the difference between this and the Fender. I was told the difference lies in the materials used to make each guitar. The fact is that when your ear is better accustomed to hearing the difference then telling these apart will be easier, at least that's what I was told.
If you're on a budget then this is the one I would recommend.
[NUMBER 3] Epiphone Les Paul Special II
This baby is more the Mac Daddy of metal. Good with distortion and a solid sound in general. This one got a lot of great reviews too. If metal is more your sound then this is the one to get.
It's priced around $200 and for the price is has all the oomph you'll need. This guitar gets ratings that stay around 8. Easy to play for beginners and the distance between the strings is not high.
The sound is what gets this guitar on the list. In all the lists I discovered, this guitar always had rave reviews for its sound quality and the like. I enjoyed playing this one more than the others.
Going from list to list on electrics I discovered just how much choice there is out there for this type of guitar. If I wanted to I could create a 20 guitar long list and I might still not have all the good beginner electric guitars on it. I think that's mainly because electrics are easier for beginners to begin with so what your looking for is sound and price. Get to the store and check them out for yourself.
